What is missing?
The G string.
It's just how I learned to play guitar. That means a lot of my songs contain diminished chords. Not something you hear all the time.
But before that...I was hiding from my choir teacher. I was the kid who was mouthing the words while everyone else was singing. When he discovered my game, I had to stay after school to rehearse with him. It was that day, my voice was found. I was 16. I ended up going to college on an Opera scholarship.
Some say my voice and style is a blend of Roy Orbison, David Bowie, Peter Murphy, and Buddy Holly, heavily influenced by the Roots, Rock, Goth, Punk, Alt Country and Indie Pop genres. Basically, my music has influences from all over, but anchored in my Kansas roots.
The stories I tell are of coming back from the dead after years of tragedy and loss. I am a two-time stroke survivor and am grateful for every day I still get to sing and play for you, with a pocket full of G strings.
